Carpet in Miami works harder than carpet almost anywhere else. Beach sand grinds into the pile, salt air leaves a sticky film, and year-round humidity feeds the bacteria behind musty smells. Regular vacuuming only reaches the surface.
Our IICRC-certified technicians use truck-mounted hot water extraction, the method most carpet manufacturers recommend, to flush soil, allergens and residue out of the fibers and the pad. You get carpet that looks brighter, feels softer and smells fresh, usually dry within a few hours.

Why choose Dr Steemer
Carpet Cleaning FAQ
How long does carpet take to dry?
Usually 4 to 8 hours. Running your AC and ceiling fans helps a lot in Miami humidity.
Do I need to move furniture?
We move light furniture like chairs and side tables. Please clear small items, breakables and anything on the floor before we arrive.
Why do some stains come back after carpet cleaning?
It's called wicking. Spills that soak into the backing or pad rise back to the surface as the carpet dries from the bottom up. We pre-treat deep spots and use powerful extraction to pull the moisture and soil out, not just clean the top. If a spot reappears within 21 days, we come back and treat it free.
Why does carpet sometimes smell musty after cleaning?
A musty smell usually means the carpet was over-wet or dried too slowly, which is common in Miami humidity. We use strong truck-mounted suction to leave as little water as possible and help you set up airflow. Keep your AC running and fans on until the carpet is dry.
Is "steam cleaning" the same as hot water extraction?
Yes. "Steam cleaning" is the everyday name for hot water extraction: hot water and cleaning solution are rinsed through the carpet and immediately extracted with strong suction. It is the method most carpet manufacturers recommend.
Will professional cleaning keep my carpet warranty valid?
Many carpet warranties require professional hot water extraction every 12 to 18 months, and some ask for proof. We use hot water extraction and can give you a receipt for your records. Check your manufacturer's warranty for its exact terms.
Is professional cleaning better than a rental machine?
Rental machines have far weaker suction, so they tend to leave more water and soap in the carpet. That slows drying, can cause odors and leaves residue that attracts dirt faster. Truck-mounted equipment rinses deeper and extracts much more.
